Long, long ago and far, far away there existed a life style so loved in the folklore of this new nation that it    became a romantic legend stealing away the mind and soul of the entire world.  Its birth was surely as grass roots America as, motherly love and yes, of course, farm baked cinnamon apple pie.  Paper back books,       newspapers, telegraph wires and countless  repeated stories, told and retold the story of the American cowboy.  Pause a minute - close your eyes - and listen to the whine of the horse, the solid thud and jolt of its hooves, the rustle of cattle and the smell of fresh air, clean sunny days and animals.  The cowboys life was rugged.  Cool nights found him in his own private space allowing dreams of his beloved gal back home waiting to reward him in their own special ways for a job well done in dedicated support of his family.  Listen again to the thud and jolt of the magnificent cow pony and you can sense the thunder of the modern cowboys magnificent beast as his 18 wheeler smokes into action.  Its Sunday evening and the independent trucker pulls out of the driveway and into the sunset.  Alone again with only his horse, fresh air, long days and odors of the nation.  He will cross and cross again this mighty nation before he once more enjoys home.  He sleeps alone in his private space - the sleeper of his truck.  His chuck wagon is the truck stop.  His freedom is the open spaces of endless interstate highways.  He passes the time with his fellow trucker on the CB.  Like his cowboy ancestor he dreams of home.  The stereo spins ballads of love and memories.  The soul stirring strains of  "Stand By Your Man" rally his spirit as it floods from the speakers of every corner of his own private world, the truck cab.  These tales of life, as he dreams them and lives them, spin out memories of good times and sad, always engaging the iron strong will of the modern cowboy to deliver to you, America, those good necessities of life.  He endures by the reward of knowing that; "If you got it - a truck brought it."  His task is finished.  The independent trucker - "America's last cowboy."  Turn aside future and wait your turn.  His legend has not yet completed its time.
